Frequently Asked Questions
All flags are sold as a pair (two flags). After all, you need one for each of your hands for the ultimate fun!
Flow Flags can wrinkle if they are crumpled and stored that way, but it will not effect how they spin. You can always iron them back out–we recommend using the coolest steam setting on your iron. We keep our flags nice and smooth by rolling them up before we store them. Fold them a couple times in the same direction, then roll them up. Keep them in a small bag, away from sun and water. They’ll be ready to go for next time!
The best way to keep Flow Flags clean is to keep protected when not in use. Because of the materials used (silk, and leaded weights), we don’t recommend putting them in the washing machine, or the dryer. If they do get stained, spot-clean them gently with a mild detergent, and let them air dry in a shaded area (to prevent fading).
The “handle” is halfway down the long, weighted side of the flag. (Most of our designs actually point to it.) Your thumb should be facing the weighted corner. Once you’re comfortable spinning it from there, you can slide your hand up or down that side for a different effect.
Two big enemies of flags are wind and rain. It can take more effort to keep them going in even a light breeze, and rain/water will make them way too heavy, as well as susceptible to dirt and mud!
Tangling (also called “roping”) happens to beginning spinners all the time. As you become more aware of all the ways you can spin them, you can anticipate the tangling and whip them in another direction. Taking movement lessons or attending a movement workshop can accelerate those skills. Don’t give up!
Standard sets fit almost everyone. When holding it hallway down the long (45″) side, with your arm extended, it should barely reach your armpit. Our customers who buy XL sized sets are usually bigger, more experienced, and/or wanting to play with heavier weights, giving them more of a workout!
We don’t have them listed at this time, but we can make child-sized sets. We can also make them in a polyester silk, which is more durable and longer lasting. Contact us for more information!
We ship via USPS Priority Mail, with tracking. Shipping is only $6.00, no matter how many sets you order! For other shipping arrangements, including international, please contact us.
The vibrant colors can be very difficult to photograph with 100% accuracy, especially under black lights. We do our very best to represent them accurately, and assure you that the set in the photograph is the actual set we delivered.
Our flags are hand-made, one-of-a-kind. In the dying process, dots of color may have landed where they weren’t intended, but we call those “happy accidents”, and will not effect how they spin. In fact, you probably won’t notice them as they go blurring by.
All sales are final. There are many flaggers out there, however, that may love them! Ask around on Social Media sites, or donate them to your local school
